The Really Local Harvest Co-op (RLHC) is seeking a dynamic and enterprising individual to take on the position of executive director (ED) for this progressive agricultural organization. Under the guidance of the board of directors, the ED is responsible for the overall oversight and administration of the RLHC whose main projects include the management of the Dieppe Market, various promotional campaigns and events, agri-product distribution initiatives such as the Really Local Harvest Baskets, all the while working with multiple partners and stakeholders. Fully bilingual candidates with a solid background in business management, marketing and communications and that are passionate about local food and agriculture are strongly encouraged to apply.

About the Really Local Harvest Co-op

The RLHC was founded in the year 2000 and is now made up of 28 agricultural producers located throughout southeast N.B. Its mission is to promote the development of sustainable agriculture in the region while its main mandate is to promote co-op members, their products and the co-op as a whole. The RLHC’s vision is that people in southeastern N.B. eat locally and sustainably produced food on a regular basis. The co-op’s corporate headquarters is located at the Dieppe Market.

Essential qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in business or social enterprise management;
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in both official languages;
  • Recent experience managing staff and financial resources including strategic work planning;
  • Experience in the development and delivery of promotional campaigns and events;
  • Experience in creating and maintaining relationships with partners and stakeholders to cooperatively achieve priority objectives;
  • Experience in leading multi-functional teams;
  • Experience interacting with the media

Additional desired qualifications

  • Experience working in an agri-food related business is a definite asset;
  • Experience in managing capital projects;
  • Experience in providing advice and support to senior management;
  • Post-secondary education, Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Marketing / Communications or equivalent in training/experience;
  • Exceptional organizational skills;
  • Multimedia training/experience considered an asset but not a necessity;
  • Agricultural training/experience considered an asset but not a necessity;

Salary: Minimum base salary of $50,000; commensurate with experience.
